LEARN TO TOW

Learn how to tow correctly and safely in your own vehicle. Towing a trailer is very different to everyday driving. It requires additional awareness, safety precautions and adjustments to how we drive. Consequences can also be far more disastrous if we haven’t followed the correct steps before beginning our trip.

• Trailer & vehicle safety checks
• Connecting your trailer to your vehicle
• Understanding load & weight positioning
• Driving & reversing with your trailer
• Safe towing technologies
• Decoupling and parking your trailer

COST

$300 per vehicle. Maximum 1x driver and 1x Passenger per vehicle (passengers must be 18 years or older). Cancellations must be advised at least 7 days prior to the course date so that a transfer to an alternative date can be arranged, cancellations after this date will result in a forfeit of all fees paid. Transfers must be completed within 6 months of the original course date. Refunds for cancellation or non-attendance are not available.

TIMINGS

Half-day courses available at:

• Morning Session: 8:00am – 1:00pm
• Afternoon Session: 12:00pm - 5:00pm

WHAT TO WEAR

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

• Your vehicle and trailer are both roadworthy
• Your vehicle has the correct towing capacity for your trailer
• Extension mirrors for caravans wider than your vehicle
• Wheel chocks and jockey wheels
• Correct oil and water levels in vehicle
• A full tank of fuel
• Tyre pressures at recommended manufacturer levels, please refer to your vehicle handbook for optimum levels.
• Remove any loose items from your vehicle

FOOD & BEVERAGES

A lunch will be provided, along with tea, coffee, and water available throughout the day. Please note: Alcohol must not be consumed for at least 12 hours prior to the course.

WEATHER

All Driver Training courses go ahead whatever the weather conditions. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel or postpone a course we will contact you as soon as possible.
